Frequently Asked Questions

Why are some converted files bigger hen the original file?

Conv2pdf has been configured to focus on the quality of the conversion and their portability on several systems. When you convert a document to PDF with Conv2pdf, you are guaranteed to have the highest quality possible and that your readers will be able to read your file. In some rare case the PDF document will have a bigger size than the original file in particular if there are pictures included in the file.

The original font was replaced by another in my PDF document. Why?

Probably, the font used is not standard. In this case, please send us his name or his file (.ttf) to integrate it into the conversion system.

The converter refuse to convert the document even if the file type is supported by the application?

Your file type is not yet supported by the application. The converter uses the header of the document to determine its type, not its exension. For instance, renaming an executable file (example.exe) into a powerpoint format (example.ppt) won't modify the file type and allow the conversion! The conversion won't work!

Is it possible to convert a file larger than 6 MB?

No, but you can try to compress your document (zip file) to reduce its size.

Does the conversion modify the document's layout?

No, our software tries to keep as much as possible the original document's quality and layout.

Why does the converter refuse my compressed file (zip file)?

Each zip file must contain only one file and no folder.

Why doesn't the software convert my PRN document?

The converter only supports PostScript type PRN files. Octet-Stream PRN are not yet supported.

What can I do to remedy to the errors occurring during the transfer of my file?

Try to compress your document into a zip file. This file format is usually easier to transfer.

Do you keep a copy of the documents converted?

Not at all. The original document is deleted after the conversion. The converted document is erased only after 15 minutes to allow the user to send multiple mails with the converted document attached and/or its download even if connection problems occur.
